How Fees Work

Every trade on Haste goes through a fee hook — a smart contract that intercepts swaps and collects fees before the trade executes. There are no traditional Uniswap LP fees; all fees come from the hook.

The total trading fee is split between three recipients:

RecipientDescription
BuybackUsed to buy back the token, supporting its price
CreatorSent to the token creator (if applicable)
ProtocolCollected by the Haste protocol

Custom Fees

Token creators can set custom fee parameters at launch:

  • Total fee — Up to 20% of trade volume.
  • Creator fee — Any portion of the total (can be 0%).
  • Buyback fee — Any portion of the total.
  • Protocol fee — Automatically computed as 20% of the total fee, with a floor of 1% and a cap of 2%.

The three splits (creator + buyback + protocol) must always add up to the total fee.

Protocol Fee Formula

Protocol fee = max(1%, min(2%, 20% × total fee))

The protocol always takes 20% of whatever the total fee is, but never less than 1% and never more than 2% of trade volume.

Fee Updates

Only Twitter (X Token) launch types allow the claimed creator to update fees after launch, and only while the token's market cap is below $100K. Once the market cap exceeds $100K, the fee configuration is locked permanently. Normal tokens have their fees locked at creation regardless of market cap.

Viewing Fee Breakdown

Before confirming any trade, you can expand the fee summary dropdown below the transaction details to see the exact breakdown of all fees that will be applied.

TIP

Always check the fee summary before confirming a trade, especially on tokens with high creator fees.
